Kate has had horses in her blood since she was born. Having been given her first pony when she was two years old by her grandmother, Kate went on to the very highest levels of competition. As a child, she represented Bay of Islands and Northland at Timberlands and in 1993 traveled to the USA where she taught horsemanship in Maine. On returning to New Zealand, Kate continued her successful eventing career, with successes at Advanced level eventing in Kihikihi and Puhunui. Her eventing success acclaimed her national recognition and lead to many owners requesting her to train and compete their horses to the top level. Aboard Jos Bayly's 'World Wide Wonder" Stallion Internet Kate was 15th at Badminton, 7th at Burghley, and 5th at the British Open Championships winning a Trophy for best placed youngest horse. Kate has had alliances with International instructors including top Olympic riders, Mark Todd, Blythe Tait, Bill Noble, Tinks Pottinger, John Cottle, and Michael Putz. Kate instructs both private and group lessons by arrangement.
